My sister's beloved and Naomi's birthland, Chi Chi Chi le le le, CHILE!!!

When I first set foot in Chile I did not know what to expect. I had arrived two months after the destructive February 27th, 2010 earthquake. Arriving at the airport in Santiago gave me a first hand look of what the structural damage the earthquake caused, but one thing that was not damaged was the heart and motivation of the Chilean people. Immediately, I fell in love with a country that I had no connection to, except for the fact that my niece was born there.

After taking everything in, we did not waste anytime in looking for my sister, her husband and niece. My mom and I were very excited to meet Naomi and when we did it was love at first site. Once we were all settled, we did the whole tourist thing. We first visited La Moneda, which is the Chilean Presidential Palace in Santiago. The following days to come we visited the Third Millenium Cross in Coquimbo, a vinyard in el valle de Elqui, a Pisco factory, and of course the beach. One thing that I must mention is the food. The food here is so fresh. We literally saw fishermen taking their fish straight to the restaurants to be prepared for their customers!!! At first I was kinda iffy about it, but after trying it I've never looked at frozen fish the same way!

After enjoying my time with my sister's family I made the trip back to the good'ol U.S. of A. alone, while my mom stayed in Chile. As I boarded the plane, I didn't say good-bye but SEE YA LATER!!!
